I was unanimously elected as President of the Club in the Annual General Body Meeting held on 27.01.2022 & I am in the administration of The Tuticorin Gymkhana Club. All the Executive Committee Members are my mates whom I meet regularly. They are very supportive & cooperative in all my decisions for upgrading & smooth functioning of the Club. Every month Executive Committee Meeting is conducted, discussions made and decisions executed promptly.
The Club is situated in the heart of the City promoting various Games like Shuttle, Tennis, Table Tennis, Volleyball, Billiards & Snooker, Basketball, Yoga, Gym, Cycling, Cards, Chess & Carrom Board. All the games sections have been renovated to current Federation standards. We have efficient & dedicated Coaches to teach with fundamentals of each game.
The Club has Associate Membership in which School & College Students can become a Member & utilise the Sports facilities available in the Club under the guidance of eminent Coaches. We conduct Winter & Summer Camps regularly for all games. We develop Sports at grassroot level & emphasis the need of the physical training in younger generation.
The prime events of the Club are Annual Tour & New Year Celebration. Its been 95 years since the establishment of the Club & we are the first Executive Committee Team in taking initiative to plan an Overseas Trip for 5 days to Bangkok / Pattaya & many Members joined the Annual Tour. All the 5 days flew off by giving only reminiscing memories.
While meeting the Members of the Club we received inputs to improve the Gym facilities. We immediately planned & constructed the Modern Fitness Studio. Mr.P.Premvetty – M/s.Vettivel & Co. & Member of the Club inaugurated the Modern Fitness Studio & Mr.S.Bhaskaran – Arjuna Awardee & International Body Builder inaugurated the Gym Equipments on 23.04.2024. We have appointed Men & Women Fitness Coaches & special timing for Women provided. Our next project in the Club will be laying paver block in the car parking area & constructing the Entrance Arch which will serve as the landmark of the Club.
Each year we affiliate with various new Clubs from all over India for the Club Members to experience various traditions & customs around India. At present we are affiliated with 43 Clubs in major Cities across India.
We request all the Members to utilise the Club facilities with their family & live a healthy life.
